Their research also shows that propane-fueled residential furnaces emit up to 50 percent fewer nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and 82 percent fewer sulfide oxide (SOx) emissions than electric furnaces.

And the Department of Energy tells us propane emits far less carbon monoxide per million BTUs of energy than gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and coal. Other ways in which propane is environmentally friendly:
